The Rev. Frank Bergen, has been with us for fifteen years, since 2009. He remains very active in the community and St. Matthew’s. He is on the preaching rotation. Each year he preaches and presides at the Christmas Day liturgy.
Deacon Jennifer Lopez

Jennifer was born in Tucson, AZ. She was active in the Southern Arizona Gender Alliance (SAGA) and Wingspan (the LGBTQ+ Community Center from 1999 to 2005). In 2004, Jennifer was appointed to the LGBTQ+ Commission for the City of Tucson listening to issues from the community and making recommendations to the Mayor and Council. Jennifer was also a member of the Citizens Police Advisory Review Board (CPARB), reviewing citizen complaints about the Police Department and making recommendations to the Chief of Police and the Mayor.
Jennifer has been a member of St. Matthew’s since 2010. She was the choir director for the St. Matthew Choir and later served as Cantor. Jennifer was admitted to Deacon Formation, class of January 2026, and serves on the Diocese LGBTQIA2S+ Committee. She was ordained a Deacon on January 24, 2026 and is excited in this new chapter in her life.
Deacon Kim Crecca

Shares her many spiritual gifts with our community. Facilitating the Wednesday evening Anglican Rosary, Thursday Morning Prayer, and the Sacred Journey Thursday evening study group, her energy is tireless! Her enthusiasm fuels not only her ministries but the people who work and serve with her. Deacon Kim was honored and made an honorary Canon at the 2024 Diocesan Convention by Bishop Reddall.
Vestry and Other Church Leadership

Senior Warden – Mike Shaughnessy Michael and his wife Kathleen have been members of St. Matthew’s since late 2019 when they moved to Tucson from Sierra Vista. He served over 29 years in the US Army and spent another 11 years as a Department of the Army Civilian, retiring in 2017. Michael was elected to the Vestry in 2024 and also serves as a Lector and directs the Lay Eucharistic Minister and Crucifer Ministry here.
